  • St. Peter
    St. Peter was born Simon, the brother of Andrew, at Bethsaida. Peter was a fisherman who became one of the first followers of Jesus and was ordained by Christ as the first pope. He was martyred by Nero about 65 A.D. and was succeeded by Pope Linus.
  • St. Philip Neri
    St. Philip Neri was born to poor parents at Florence in 1515. He moved to Rome and co-founded a fraternity in 1548 with other laymen to work with pilgrims coming to Rome. He often went out at night to pray with the destitute. He was ordained in 1551 and died in 1595.
