  • St. Colette
    St. Colette was born on 1380 in Picardy, France. She established seventeen convents of strict Poor Clares, called the Colettines, while working to reform existing Poor Clare monasteries.
  • St. Dennis
    St. Dennis (Denis) lived around 200AD and was sent from Italy as a missionary to Gaul (modern day France). He became the first bishop of Paris and was later martyred by beheading.
  • St. Stephen
    St. Stephen is considered the first Christian martyr. He was dragged away by an angry mob while preaching the Gospel in the streets and stoned to death. His demise came as a result of a speech during which he chastised opponents by comparing them to past Israelites bound to blasphemy and idolatry.
  • St. Teresa of Avila
    Saint Teresa of Avila was born on March 28, 1515 in what is now Spain. At 17 she left home without informing anyone and entered a Carmelite house. Saint Teresa is best known for her extensive writings on the Counter Reformation and prayer life. She died on October 4, 1582.
