  • St. Catherine of Bologna
    Born in 1413, St. Catherine of Bologna left court at a very young age, in order to become a Franciscan lay member. Because of her profound mystical writings, she was appointed Superior of the Poor Clare convent at Ferrara by Pope Nicholas V.

    St. Luke the Evangelist was born a Greek and a Gentile and is believed to have been a physician prior by profession. A convert to Christianity, he followed Saint Paul and wrote the third Gospel and the Acts of the Apostles.
