  • St. Bernard of Clairvaux
    St Bernard of Clairvaux was born of a noble family in 1090. After the death of his mother, he joined the Cistercian order and persuaded four of his brothers to enter with him. Bernard eventually became Abbot of Clairvaux and founded many other monasteries as well. He wrote several works and was declared a Doctor of the CHurch by Pope Pius VIII.
